Calendar of Updates

Like a little bitch, I just couldn't stay away from updating this thing today. I am fully aware of what I said at the end of yesterday's update; I hope my loyal readers will realize that I was having a hellish day and take those words with a grain of salt.

In any case, I have installed a guestbook on this site, courtesy of the fine people at Getstring. It allows me to respond to people's entries, among other things, so if you want to start a short conversation, go check it out. For longer stuff, like a political or philosophical discussion or something like that, please use the message board. Editor's note: Both links removed February 13, 2004; both the guestbook and message board are long gone.

It is snowing here in Ann Arbor again; we may have eight inches by the time it's done later tonight or tomorrow. At least we're not getting blasted like they are west of here.

Before I finish, I would like to take a minute to thank my friend Eric for what he did for me last night. During a phone conversation, he helped me to realize that there are scenarios for the next three months of my life that don't involve anybody screwing me over. I think what happened is that once I started looking at cars, taking steps down my life's new path, I realized just how far I'd gone — just like making the mistake of looking back on your nearest opponent in a foot race. Upon doing this, I figuratively soiled myself (not literally — otherwise I'd be doing laundry instead of writing this ), and became all paranoid about the situation. What Eric did for me was to open my eyes to other possibilities, and I'd like to thank him for that.

Anyway, it's about time to get on with my day, which at some point will have to include a short drive in the snow (funfunfun).
