Calendar of Updates

The site has returned — finally. During the last two-plus years, I have been out on the road with three different trucking companies, and rarely home. One can't exactly haul around a giant desktop machine inside a truck, for a number of reasons, and the only reliable Internet access I had involved $0.20/minute "e-mail machines" at major truck stop chains. None of those, of course, provide any means for uploading files from your storage media to the Web. Finally, before I got to the company I drive for now, I was working at $0.26/mile or less, and food and supplies basically took just about every penny I had. Now at $0.35/mile, I've obviously been able to save enough to buy this laptop, Verizon Wireless internet access, and still have roughly $1,000 in savings left toward other things.

As you can see above, I am out on the road today, enjoying the warm (albeit rainy) weather here in the South. After the last month and a half or so, I honestly wouldn't care if most of the upper Midwest got nuked — that's how bad the weather has been there. Southeast Michigan has received more snow than I can rememeber it having in years, and God forbid you have to travel anywhere within 100 miles of the Great Lakes. Thankfully, the lakes started freezing over earlier this month, and the lake-effect snow machine has started to take a break.

There will be some changes made to the content of this site when I get the time to get around to it. Five sections have been toasted in the process of preparing this site for upload, mostly because they no longer fall into my interest categories, or I've lost the service required to keep the section, or I've closed up shop (my old side web-design business). Work comes before pleasure, however, and the required miles must be made before I get around to any of this. Keep an eye open, though; stuff will pop up when I get time to create it.
