I finally have my Gateway laptop back, as of Monday evening, but the stupid idiots at Gateway’s repair facility failed to return my AC adapter and power cord. I’ve been living with one of the universal-type ones, purchased at a CompUSA store, since I got the computer back. Gateway will be sending me an adapter, but the computer would have been useless for two weeks had I not bought the universal one.

Of course, the next time I head home (which is tentatively scheduled for January 21), I’m going to have to do something about the software gremlins that have also been plaguing this machine lately. I mean, I’ve known what a shitty operating system Windows is, and how badly Internet Explorer sucks donkey balls, for years — and guess what? It’s time to nuke my hard drive and completely start over again, mostly because of the damage Internet Explorer 7 seems to have done to several of my programs. Uninstalling IE7 and going back to the old version didn’t do a damn thing to fix them, of course, so I’m going to have to do what just about every Windows system seems to require roughly every two years.

Other than that, there’s not a ton of any significance going on right now, and I’m sort of tired tonight, so I’m going to cut this short and hit the sack. I’ll apparently be headed to Missouri over the weekend.
