A quick hypertext drive: Interstate 12 largely serves as a through-traffic Interstate 10 bypass for traffic not needing to go through New Orleans. The entire route is flat, and outside of a short six-lane section in eastern Baton Rouge, I-12 carries four lanes and is otherwise non-descript. The interchange at the eastern terminus in Slidell allows eastbound I-12 traffic to follow a right-side ramp to westbound I-10 (back toward New Orleans); proceed straight to eastbound I-10 toward Mississippi; or follow a cloverleaf loop ramp to access northbound I-59, which also terminates at that interchange.
